Brown Creek Campground
The main campground is open for the 2026 season from May 15 through September 4. Six sites along Forest Road 2430 are open year-round but lack potable water during the off-season. All sites are first-come, first-served with no reservations. 14-day maximum stay limit in effect.

About
Brown Creek Campground occupies a forested setting along the South Fork Skokomish River at the confluence with Brown Creek in Olympic National Forest. Evergreen conifers and hardwoods provide ample shade throughout the campground. The 20 campsites include 12 that can accommodate trailers and RVs up to 21 feet, 8 tent-only sites, and one ADA-accessible site. All camping is first-come, first-served with no advance reservations. The main campground operates seasonally from mid-May through early September, with potable water and vault toilets available during this period. Six sites along Forest Road 2430 remain open year-round, though water is not available during the off-season. A vault toilet at the nearby Brown Creek Trailhead is accessible year-round. The family-friendly Brown Creek Nature Loop Trail can be accessed directly from the campground. Campers should be aware that bears and other wildlife are present in the area, and food storage containers are required. Theft has been reported in the area, and a 14-day maximum stay limit applies.
Directions
From Shelton, WA take US Highway 101 north for 6 miles. Turn west onto Skokomish Valley Road and follow it about 8 miles to the forest boundary. Continue on Forest Road 23 for approximately 5 miles to Forest Service Road 2353. Turn right and drive about 3/4 mile to the South Fork Skokomish River Bridge. Cross the bridge and make a sharp right turn onto Forest Service Road 2340. Brown Creek Campground is 1/4 mile ahead.
