Lake Shetek State Park sits on the shores of Minnesota's largest lake in the southwest prairie region, offering a mix of camping experiences across three distinct campgrounds. Oak Woods Campground provides 32 electric sites with 50-amp service, 6 non-electric sites, 7 cart-in sites, and 4 camper cabins, all shaded beneath old-growth oaks. Cart-in sites include tent pads and require a short walk from the parking area. The camper cabins feature small porches with outdoor picnic tables and fire rings. Sunrise Campground caters to RV campers with 32 full-hookup sites providing water, sewer, and 50-amp electric connections. The campground features two picnic shelters with solar panels as part of a reduced carbon footprint design. Prairie Campground offers 12 rustic sites for tents and smaller campers in a large grassy area bordered by shade trees. The park also includes a wilderness group camp on Park Lake accommodating up to 30 people with vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables. Park amenities include flush toilets, vault toilets, hot showers, drinking water, and a park office with a gift shop selling ice and firewood from May through September. Reservations can be made 120 days in advance through mndnr.gov/reservations or by phone.
