Lake Shetek State Park, situated in Murray County in southwest Minnesota, is the largest lake in the region and offers four rustic camper cabins for overnight stays. These 12x16 foot one-room wooden cabins are nestled in the Oak Woods Campground under a canopy of old-growth oaks overlooking the lake. Each cabin features wood interiors with bunk beds and mattresses sleeping up to six guests, a table with benches, electricity, heat, and a screened porch. An outdoor picnic table and fire ring with cooking grate are provided at each cabin site. Cabins do not have indoor plumbing or cooking facilities beyond crockpots and coffeepots. Seasonal restrooms with flush toilets, showers, and drinking water are located nearby in the campground. Pets are not permitted in the camper cabins. Accessible cabins are available with a maximum capacity of five guests. The park encompasses over 1,100 acres of restored prairie, wetlands, and oak savanna along the shores of 3,500-acre Lake Shetek. Activities include fishing for walleye, northern pike, and panfish, swimming at the sandy beach with its historic bathhouse, and boating with rentals available. The six-mile Casey Jones State Trail connects the park to the town of Currie.
