Lake Michigan Campground

Lake Michigan Campground is one of two campgrounds within Muskegon State Park, situated on the inland side of a large dune with stairway access to Lake Michigan's shoreline. The modern campground operates year-round and features 106 electric campsites with 30-amp and 50-amp service. Sites are divided between two loops: the first loop (sites 1-92) borders the navigation channel, while the second loop (sites 101-147) offers larger sites positioned near the dune and Muskegon Lake. Most sites are wooded. Each campsite includes a fire ring and picnic table. Amenities include a toilet and shower building with flush toilets and hot water. Potable water is available in the campground from late April through mid-October; campers must bring their own water during the off-season. The campground also has an accessible walkway to the beach and a beach wheelchair available for use. Two mini cabins in the campground are open year-round, each sleeping four people with two bunk beds, a mini fridge, microwave, high-top table, bar stools, heat, and lighting. A yurt is also available in the adjacent Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park area. Reservations are available through MiDNRReservations.com.

From US-31, take the Pontaluna Road exit and head west. Turn north on Lake Harbor Road, then follow Memorial Drive to the park entrance at 3560 Memorial Drive, North Muskegon.
