Silver Lake State Park in Oceana County contains nearly 2,000 acres of towering sand dunes, 3 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, and the popular 450-acre Silver Lake ORV Area where visitors can rent dune buggies or bring their own off-road vehicles. The modern campground offers 200 sites spread across both shaded and waterfront settings, with sites 1-13 positioned directly on Silver Lake. Each site includes electric hookups (20 or 30 amp), a fire ring, and picnic table. Facilities include a modern toilet and shower building cleaned daily, a two-lane sanitation station with potable water on the south side of the campground, and a camp store. Registered campers may moor boats in the shallow portion of Silver Lake adjacent to the campground. A designated swim beach in the day-use area is within walking distance. The park operates year-round with seasonal variations in available activities. Fat-tire biking trails open December 15 through March 15, and horseback riding is permitted November 1-30. Located at 9679 W. State Park Road, Mears, MI 49436. From US-31, take the Shelby Road exit west to 34th Avenue, then north to Silver Lake Road. Follow Silver Lake Road west to the park entrance.
