About

Charles Mears State Park Campground occupies a prime location on Lake Michigan's eastern shore in the small resort town of Pentwater. The 50-acre park features 175 modern campsites arranged in two loops (east and west), each with a concrete pad surrounded by sand and electric service. The campground's proximity to the beach makes it ideal for families and water enthusiasts. Modern amenities include flush toilet and shower buildings, potable water stations, a dump station, and WiFi coverage. Sites come equipped with fire pits for evening campfires. Pull-through sites accommodate larger RVs. A pet-friendly beach at the park's south end welcomes leashed dogs, and accessible walkways lead to the water with a beach wheelchair available. The nearby town of Pentwater offers restaurants, shops, and a quaint downtown within walking distance. Popular activities include swimming at the buoyed beach, fishing from the pier, and exploring the park's interpretive trail.
