About

Lake Kegonsa State Park Group Campground is situated within a scenic 342-acre Wisconsin state park on the northeast shore of Lake Kegonsa, a 3,200-acre lake in Dane County. The group camping area features six separate sites, each designed to accommodate up to 20 tent campers. Unlike the family campground, the group sites are exclusively for tent camping and do not permit RVs, trailers, or pop-up campers. The group camp provides essential amenities including two vault toilets and two water fountains distributed throughout the area. Group Site B is enhanced with an on-site picnic shelter. Adjacent to the camping sites is a common recreational area equipped with a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pit, and ball field, providing entertainment options for larger groups. Each site allows parking for up to six vehicles, with additional overflow parking available near the swimming beach. The park's location on Lake Kegonsa offers excellent access to fishing, boating, and other water activities. A swimming beach, boat launch, and fishing opportunities are within a mile of the campground. The park features a mix of oak woodland, prairie, and wetlands environments. Firewood is available for purchase from a concessionaire on weekends throughout the camping season and daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Reservations can be made through the Wisconsin State Park System reservation system.
