Lake Kegonsa State Park Campground is located on the northeast shore of Lake Kegonsa, a 3,200-acre lake southeast of Madison. The campground features 96 family campsites that can accommodate tents, pop-ups, trailers, and RVs. Sites 1-9 and 87-93 are partially wooded, while the remaining sites are heavily wooded, providing privacy and shade beneath the park's oak canopy. Twenty-nine sites are equipped with electrical hookups, and two electric campsites are specifically designed for campers with disabilities. The campground includes modern amenities with flush toilets and showers at the entrance, though these may be closed in early May and late October depending on weather conditions. Three vault toilets are located throughout the campground. Drinking water is available at several locations, and a sanitary dump station is situated on the main park road between the family and group camps. The park also offers six group campsites that accommodate up to 20 campers each, with tent-only camping and access to vault toilets and water fountains. Firewood is sold by a concessionaire on all weekends during the camping season and daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Reservations can be made online or by calling the Wisconsin State Park System.

Directions

From the junction of I-90 and County Road N (Exit 147), head south on County Road N for 1 mile to Koshkonong Road. Turn west and continue for 1.5 miles to Door Creek Road. Turn south and proceed 1 mile to the park entrance.
