A slow moving weather system will continue to impact the region through Sunday. The risk of flooding continues, especially over Southeast Montana and Northeast Wyoming. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible, along with flash flooding over recent burn scars. * WHERE...All of South Central and Southeast Montana, and Sheridan County Wyoming. * WHEN...Through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - The heaviest rainfall is slowly shifting over Southeastern Montana and Northeast Wyoming. The risk of flooding over south-centeral Montana is decreasing. - The Robertson Draw, East Side, Elk, and McGhee-Remington burn scars are particularly vulnerable to Flash Flooding and debris flows. Lake Elmo State Park is a popular day-use recreation area located at 2300 Lake Elmo Drive in Billings, Montana. The park encompasses 123 acres with a 64-acre reservoir that supports swimming, non-motorized boating, sailboarding, kayaking, paddleboarding, and fishing. A 1.4-mile paved nature trail circles the lake, providing opportunities for hiking, bird watching, and winter activities like cross-country skiing and ice skating. Facilities include flush toilets, vault toilets, showers, a boat launch, fishing pier, picnic shelters, playground, and a 200-square-foot fenced dog park on the west side of the lake with water access for dogs. Potable water is available seasonally from May through September. The park is ADA accessible with an Action Trackchair available by reservation. This is strictly a day-use facility with no overnight camping. The park operates year-round from 5am to 10pm daily. Montana residents who paid the $9 state parks fee with their vehicle registration enter free; non-residents pay $8 per vehicle or $4 for walk-in/bicycle entry.
