About

Dayboard 9 Campground is a remote boat-access only camping destination on Bighorn Lake within Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area. Located approximately 9 miles by water south of Okabeh Marina or 27 miles north of Barry's Landing, this primitive campground offers 5 first-come, first-served gravel campsites perched on an uneven hillside above the lake. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, bear-proof food storage locker, and fire pit. During the summer season from Memorial Day through Labor Day, the site features a courtesy dock for boat mooring and a floating comfort station with composting toilets. These seasonal facilities are removed after Labor Day for winter. The campground has no potable water, so visitors must bring adequate water supplies for drinking and cooking. The campground is not ADA accessible, requiring boaters to disembark onto the dock and navigate a steep, uneven hill to reach the campsites. This fee-free campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Campsite occupancy is limited to 14 cumulative days within a 28-day period. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, and pets must be leashed at all times.
