Lake Carlos State Park Group Center offers a well-equipped group camping experience in a scenic maple-basswood forest between Lake Carlos and Hidden Lake. The facility can accommodate up to 60 people overnight and includes a dining hall with fireplace and seating for 60, plus a commercial kitchen with gas range, walk-in cooler, freezer, and all necessary cookware and utensils. Sleeping accommodations consist of two bunkhouses sleeping 18 each on bunk beds, a large recreation hall with two single beds and four bunk beds, and an accessible staff building with 14 single beds and three bathrooms. A separate restroom building provides shower facilities for men and women, plus family assist facilities. Outdoor amenities include a fire ring, picnic tables, paved sidewalks, an overlook, and a private boat dock on the lake. The group center is ideal for organized groups, family reunions, and retreats seeking a combination of rustic setting and modern facilities. Guests must bring their own bedding and clean the facility before checkout.

Directions

From Alexandria, Minnesota, take Highway 29 north for approximately 10 miles. Turn left onto County Road 38 and follow the signs to Lake Carlos State Park. The Group Center is located within the park, nestled between Lake Carlos and Hidden Lake.
