About
Hidden Lakes Group Center is a group camping facility within Lake Carlos State Park, located in a scenic maple-basswood forest between Lake Carlos and Hidden Lake in Douglas County, Minnesota. The center provides comprehensive amenities for group stays with a maximum overnight capacity of 60 people. The main building features a commercial kitchen equipped with a gas range stove, griddle, walk-in cooler, freezer, refrigerator, microwave, and complete cookware and serving equipment. The dining hall includes a fireplace, tables, and seating for 60 people. Sleeping accommodations consist of two bunkhouses (each sleeping 18 on bunk beds), a large recreation hall divided into two rooms with beds, and an accessible staff building with 14 single beds and three bathrooms. A separate restroom building provides bathroom and shower facilities for men and women, plus family assist facilities. Outdoor amenities include a fire ring, picnic tables, paved sidewalks, an overlook, and a private boat dock on Hidden Lake. The facility is ideal for youth groups, family reunions, retreats, and other organized gatherings. Reservations must be made by calling the park directly, as the group center is not available through the standard Minnesota state park reservation system.
Directions
The Hidden Lake Group Center is located within Lake Carlos State Park, situated between Lake Carlos and Hidden Lake. To reach the group center, enter the park from the main entrance and follow the signs directing you to the group center area. The park is accessible via State Highway 29, approximately 10 miles north of Alexandria, Minnesota.
