About

Lake Carlos State Park's camper cabins provide a comfortable year-round lodging option within the scenic Leaf Hills Region of Douglas County, Minnesota. The four cabins are positioned near the park's campground facilities, giving guests access to seasonal flush toilets, hot showers, and drinking water, while vault toilets remain available during the off-season. Each one-room cabin measures 12x16 feet and comes equipped with wooden bunk beds with mattresses, a dining table and benches, electricity, and heat. The cabins feature screened porches and include an outdoor picnic table and fire ring with a cooking grate at each site. Indoor cooking is limited to crockpots and coffeepots only. The park offers additional amenities including a dump station, nature store, visitor center, swimming beach, boat ramp, and access to hiking and horseback riding trails. Reservations can be made up to 120 days in advance through the Minnesota state parks reservation system. Pets are not permitted in camper cabins. The park is situated 10 miles north of Alexandria, accessible via the Glacial Ridge Trail Scenic Byway, with the cabins nestled between Lake Carlos and surrounding maple-basswood forests.
