About

Lake Bob Sandlin State Park encompasses 639 acres of rolling East Texas Pineywoods terrain along the shores of 9,460-acre Lake Bob Sandlin. The park provides excellent access to one of northeast Texas's premier fishing lakes, with a lighted fishing pier, fish cleaning station, and boat ramp. Two stocked ponds offer additional angling opportunities for trout and bream. The park features 75 developed campsites spread across four camping areas: Broken Bow, Cherokee Trace, Fort Sherman, and Moccasin Track. Each site includes a picnic table, water hookup, 30-amp electrical service, and a fire ring or grill, with restrooms and showers nearby. Some sites feature shade shelters, and nine premium sites sit directly along the lake's edge. For a more secluded experience, 16 primitive hike-in sites are available near Two-Acre Pond, accessible via a quarter to one-mile hike from the parking area. Recreation options include 3.3 miles of multi-use trails for hiking and biking, kayak rentals, and fishing pole loans. The park offers Junior Ranger programs and maintains a gift shop at the front office where firewood is available for purchase. Due to the park's popularity, reservations are strongly recommended, especially for weekends and holidays.
