Open — Open year-round with reservations available online through Texas State Parks. Park office hours are 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. daily, with park gates open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The park often reaches capacity and advance reservations are highly recommended.

Cooper Lake State Park Doctors Creek Unit is located on the north side of Jim Chapman Lake in Delta County, Texas, approximately 90 minutes northeast of Dallas. This established campground offers 38 standard campsites with 30 or 50 amp electric and water hookups in the Liberty Grove area, as well as 2 premium tent-only sites with electricity in the Granny's Neck area. The park provides excellent lake access for fishing, boating, paddling, swimming, and water skiing on the peaceful 19,000-acre reservoir surrounded by state park and wildlife management lands. Campers can enjoy modern restrooms with showers, fishing piers, boat docks, and fish cleaning stations. The campground features picnic tables, fire rings, and outdoor grills at each site. The park does not have a gate and operates with a reservation system through Texas State Parks. A daily entrance fee of $5 per person age 13 and older applies in addition to camping fees. The park offers hiking and biking trails, geocaching opportunities, stargazing programs, and a park store with snacks, drinks, souvenirs, and kayak rentals. Sites 1 and 3 are restricted to tents only and cannot accommodate RVs or trailers. Site 6 is ADA-accessible.

95 Park Road 8154, Cooper, TX 75432. Located on the north side of Jim Chapman Lake, closer to the town of Cooper than Sulphur Springs. If using GPS, ensure it directs to Doctors Creek Unit, not South Sulphur Unit.
