About

Laird Lake Campground is a small, free primitive campground in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, situated at the headwaters of the Wild and Scenic Elk River. The campground lies along the Wild Rivers Coast Scenic Bikeway, making it a convenient stop for cyclists exploring the region. The campground features just 4 campsites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire pit. Facilities are basic: a vault toilet is provided, but there is no drinking water and campers must pack out all trash. Quiet hours are enforced between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., and dogs must be kept on leash. Nearby Laird Lake is a popular fishing destination, stocked annually with several thousand catchable rainbow trout. The lake was recently rehabilitated to remove illegally introduced Umpqua pikeminnow. Recreation opportunities include fishing, swimming, hiking, and wildlife viewing. The 28-mile drive from Highway 101 on Forest Road 5325 passes through scenic forest terrain.
