About
Laguardo is a popular day-use recreation area on Old Hickory Lake, a 22,500-acre reservoir created by the Old Hickory Lock and Dam on the Cumberland River. Located about 7.5 miles north of I-40 on Highway 109 near Lebanon, Tennessee, the area is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and serves as an accessible day-trip destination from Nashville. The recreation area features a sandy swimming beach, boat ramp for water access, family-friendly playground, restroom facilities, and picnic tables throughout the park. A group picnic shelter accommodating up to 100 people is available for reservation through Recreation.gov. Popular activities include swimming, bank fishing, picnicking, canoeing, kayaking, and other water sports. This is a day-use only facility. For overnight camping on Old Hickory Lake, visitors should consider nearby Corps-managed campgrounds such as Cages Bend, Cedar Creek, or Rockland Recreation Area.
Directions
From Nashville, take I-40 East to exit 232-B. Continue North on Hwy. 109 approximately 7.5 miles. Entrance to the park will be on the left.
