About
Laguardo Recreation Area sits on the shores of Old Hickory Lake, a 22,500-acre reservoir created by the Old Hickory Lock and Dam on the Cumberland River. This family-oriented facility serves primarily as a day-use area, offering a sandy swimming beach, boat ramp, playground, picnic tables, and excellent bank fishing access. The lake is surrounded by wooded areas and grassy flatlands with 440 miles of scenic shoreline. The campground features one group picnic shelter that can accommodate up to 50 guests, with parking available for up to 50 vehicles. Additional amenities include restroom facilities and picnic tables scattered throughout the park. The convenient boat ramp makes Laguardo popular for canoeing, kayaking, and other water sports.
