About

Lac Qui Parle State Park sits in western Minnesota's prairie landscape along the shores of Lac qui Parle Lake, a widening of the Minnesota River. The park's two campgrounds offer distinct experiences: the Upper Campground provides open prairie sites with lake views, full amenities including flush toilets and hot showers, and can accommodate large RVs up to 60 feet. The Lower Campground features more secluded, shaded sites beneath mature trees, though it has only vault toilets and a 50-foot vehicle limit. The park encompasses 952 acres with access to the adjacent 33,000-acre Lac qui Parle Wildlife Management Area, making it exceptional for birding and wildlife viewing. Amenities include 6 miles of hiking trails, swimming beach, and boat launch. Three camper cabins are also available, with Cabin 2 being ADA accessible. Note that the Lower Campground is located in a flood zone, so campers should check conditions before booking during wet periods.
