About

Kodachrome Basin State Park sits nine miles south of Cannonville off Highway 12 in southern Utah's red rock country. Named by a 1948 National Geographic expedition after Kodak's color film, the park preserves 67 monolithic sedimentary pipes rising from multi-hued sandstone layers representing 180 million years of geologic history. Three campgrounds serve different needs. Basin Campground (33 sites) offers full hookups with water, sewer, and electric, plus flush toilets, hot showers, and a dish wash station. It operates March 1 through December 1. Arch Campground (13 sites) provides partial hookups with water and electric, vault toilets, and stays open year-round, making it the winter option. Bryce View Campground (11 sites) has no hookups but offers sheltered tent sites with views toward Bryce Canyon. The park features hiking trails including Angels Palace, Nature Trail, and Grand Parade within walking distance of Basin Campground. Additional facilities include a visitor center, gift shop, laundromat, disc golf course, 3D archery range, and bunkhouse rentals.
