About

Kings Creek Campground is located on the west side of Tropic Reservoir, high on the Colorado Plateau at an elevation of 8,000 feet in the Dixie National Forest. The campground is nestled among towering ponderosa pines on a hillside above the reservoir, providing scenic views and a cooler mountain escape during summer months. The campground features 37 individual campsites and 2 group sites. Individual sites operate on a first-come-first-served basis, while group sites can be reserved through Recreation.gov. Amenities include flush and vault toilets, potable drinking water from a hand pump, fire pits, picnic tables, tent pads, and a dump station. Select sites have paved sidewalks for ADA accessibility. Recreation opportunities abound. Tropic Reservoir offers fishing for brook, rainbow, brown, and cutthroat trout, with a boat ramp within half a mile. ATV enthusiasts favor this location for its direct access to the Fremont ATV trail and Great Western Trail. Hiking and mountain biking trails depart from points within the campground. Bryce Canyon National Park is just 12 miles away.

Directions

From Panguitch, Utah, travel 7 miles south on Hwy 89 to Scenic Hwy 12. Travel Hwy 12 for 11 miles to East Fork Road. Travel East Fork Road 7 miles to Tropic Reservoir and Kings Creek Campground. Turn immediately after the sign for the campground and continue 0.5 miles to the campground on the west side of Tropic Reservoir.
