About
Kiwanis Campground is a dispersed single-unit camping area situated along Mann Creek in the Payette National Forest's Weiser Ranger District. Located approximately 20 miles north of Weiser in Washington County, Idaho, this free camping site offers a convenient roadside location along Forest Road 009, an improved gravel road suitable for passenger cars. The campground's proximity to the road means campers should expect some road noise and dust from passing vehicles. While the site provides a vault toilet, there is no potable water available, so visitors must come prepared with their own water supply or be ready to treat water from Mann Creek. The site offers access to the Mann Creek corridor and the surrounding Payette National Forest recreation areas, including opportunities for hiking, fishing, and exploring the West Central Mountains. The typical season of operation runs from mid-May through late September or early October, depending on weather conditions and snow levels. This dispersed camping area provides a no-frills camping experience for those seeking free camping in the national forest setting.
Directions
From Weiser, travel north on Highway 95 for approximately 12 miles, then turn onto Forest Road 009. Travel another 8 miles to reach the dispersed campground. Road 009 is an improved gravel road suitable for passenger cars.
