Kershaw Ryan State Park Campground is situated in a spectacular canyon where 700-foot high rainbow-hued cliffs tower over a spring-fed oasis. The sharp contrast between the rugged desert landscape and the verdant canyon floor creates a unique camping experience in eastern Nevada. Natural springs support a thriving ecosystem of wild grapevines, white oaks, fruit trees, and willows, attracting wild horses, deer, and other wildlife. The campground offers 16 developed sites, each with a shade ramada, picnic table, fire ring, grill, and both 30 amp and 50 amp electrical hookups plus water. Four additional tent-only sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis. All campers have access to restrooms, coin-operated showers, and an RV dump station. The camping limit is seven days within a 30-day period. Beyond camping, the park provides excellent hiking and mountain biking opportunities across 14 miles of trails, including the challenging 1.5-mile Overlook Trail that climbs above the canyon. A spring-fed wading pool operates seasonally from May through October. The park serves as an ideal basecamp for exploring Rainbow Canyon and the surrounding backcountry.

Directions

Located 2 miles south of Caliente on Nevada State Route 317. The park is 2.5 hours north of Las Vegas and 1.5 hours west of southern Utah.
