Cathedral Gorge State Park Group Use Area offers reserved group camping in a dramatic geological setting in southeastern Nevada. The group facilities are located adjacent to the main campground and provide accommodations for both day-use and overnight groups. Each group area features large overhead shade ramadas, grills, picnic tables, and water access. Two handicapped-accessible campsites are available at the group area, complete with flush restrooms and showers. The park is situated in a long, narrow valley where erosion has carved unique patterns in soft bentonite clay over tens of millions of years. The landscape features cathedral-like spires and buff-colored cliffs that resulted from ancient volcanic activity. Visitors can explore the formations via walking trails, including a four-mile loop trail through remote portions and a one-mile trail connecting Miller Point overlook to the picnic area. Open year-round with water and restroom facilities available throughout the year, the group area provides a base for hiking, photography, nature study, and exploring the park's dramatic canyons. Camping is limited to 14 days within a 30-day period. The park's visitor center, open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, is located at the entrance off U.S. Highway 93.

From Panaca, Nevada, travel north on U.S. Route 93 for approximately 2 miles. Turn left onto Cathedral Gorge State Park Road to reach the park entrance.
