Open — The campground is currently open year-round and accepting reservations. Park winterization is in effect October through April. About

Echo Canyon State Park Campground is located in Lincoln County, Nevada, approximately 12 miles east of Pioche via State Routes 322 and 323. The park offers two distinct camping areas to accommodate different camping styles. The North Campground contains 33 sites, each equipped with a shade ramada, picnic table, grill, and access to drinking water pumps. These sites are available through reservation or first-come, first-served. The upper RV campground provides 20 full hookup sites situated on a hillside with views overlooking Dry Valley. Campground facilities include flush toilets and an RV dump station serving both areas. The park enforces a 14-day camping limit within any 30-day period. At an elevation ranging from 5,200 to 5,600 feet, the area experiences an arid climate with hot summers and cold winters with occasional snow. The park remains open year-round with peak season from June through August, though winterization measures are in effect from October through April. The 2.5-mile Ash Canyon trail begins in the upper campground, climbs 300 feet to the valley rim, and descends into Ash Canyon before connecting back via the paved road. The park showcases volcanic rock formations and desert landscape typical of the Great Basin. Wildlife includes eagles, hawks, deer, coyotes, and various waterfowl near the reservoir. The reservoir has been drained for dam maintenance since October 2024, limiting water-based recreation, though the campground remains fully operational.

Directions

From Pioche, take State Route 322 east, then follow State Route 323 southeast for approximately 12 miles to the park entrance. The park is about 12 miles from the Nevada-Utah border.
