About

Echo Canyon State Park Group Campground provides a dedicated gathering space for larger parties near Echo Canyon Reservoir in eastern Nevada's Great Basin. The group area can accommodate up to 70 people and features shade ramadas for relief from the desert sun, barbecue grills, picnic tables, a comfort station with restrooms, and access to drinking water. The park surrounds a 65-acre reservoir created by a dam on Echo Canyon Wash. Anglers can pursue rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and catfish, while the north shore boat ramp provides access for small watercraft. The 2.5-mile Ash Canyon Trail offers hiking opportunities through the pinyon-juniper woodland surrounding the reservoir. Wildlife viewing includes mule deer, coyotes, and various bird species. Located about 12 miles east of Pioche off US Highway 93, Echo Canyon provides a quieter alternative to more crowded Nevada state parks. The high desert setting features dramatic rock formations and panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges.

Directions

From Pioche, Nevada, travel east on State Route 322 for approximately 12 miles to the park entrance. The park is located about 65 miles north of Caliente and 170 miles northeast of Las Vegas.
