Beaver Dam State Park Campground

Open — The campground is open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis starting November 1. Water systems are winterized October through April; vault toilets remain available. Winter access may be limited or impassible due to adverse weather and road conditions.

About

Beaver Dam State Park displays a natural, primitive and rustic beauty in Nevada's far eastern region near the Utah border. The park features two developed campgrounds offering individual campsites, each with a fire pit, picnic table, and parking suitable for one vehicle and a small trailer. Located at approximately 5,000 feet elevation, the park showcases dramatic volcanic and sedimentary rock formations, pinyon-juniper woodlands with scattered ponderosa pines, and perennial streams fed by natural springs. The park is a designated Watchable Wildlife Area where visitors may encounter mule deer, wild turkeys, porcupines, bobcats, great blue herons, and numerous other species. Rainbow trout fishing is available in the stocked streams below the day-use area. Multiple hiking trails range from easy streamside walks to moderate climbs offering 360-degree canyon views. The park preserves remnants of the historic Hamblin Ranch and structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1934-35. Access requires traveling nearly 30 miles on unpaved roads, and winter conditions can make the park limited or impassable. The remote location offers no electric power, limited cell reception, and requires visitors to pack out all trash. Camping is limited to 14 days within any 30-day period.
