About
Kendall Campground occupies 70 forested acres directly below Wolf Creek Dam on Lake Cumberland in south-central Kentucky. The tailwater below the dam creates a cold-water trout fishery stocked with rainbow, brook, and brown trout, making this a destination for anglers. All 116 campsites include water and 50-amp electric hookups, a fire ring with grill, picnic table, and lantern post. Sites accommodate RVs and trailers up to 51-65 feet depending on the site. Facilities include modern restrooms with flush toilets and showers, a dump station, fish cleaning station, and boat ramp. Recreational amenities include a basketball court, horseshoe pits, playgrounds, and the Whispering Pines Trail, a half-mile interpretive path through mature hardwood forest. Dense shade from the surrounding forest keeps the campground cool in summer. Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery is within walking distance and offers free tours and an environmental education center. Lake Cumberland State Park is 6.5 miles away with additional hiking, horseback riding, and boat rentals. Reservations are handled through Recreation.gov.
Directions
From Jamestown, Kentucky, take US Highway 127 south for 10 miles and turn right just before crossing Wolf Creek Dam. The campground is on Kendall Road.
