Obey River Park

Obey River Park sits on the shores of Dale Hollow Lake in the hills of Tennessee, serving as the largest campground on the lake. The facility offers 123 single-party campsites, four group camping sites, and two picnic shelters. Sites range from paved RV pads with 50-amp electric and water hookups to gravel standard sites and tent-only areas near the water. Modern amenities include flush toilets, shower houses, a dump station, drinking water, and Wi-Fi near the registration center. Dale Hollow Lake is renowned for yielding the world record smallmouth bass and offers excellent rainbow and brown trout fishing in the Obey River below the dam. With 27,700 surface acres and 620 miles of shoreline, boating and water skiing are popular activities. The campground hosts the lake's largest and most visited swimming beach, along with basketball courts, volleyball, and playgrounds. Nearby attractions include the Cordell Hull Birthplace, the Sergeant Alvin York Home Place, and the Dale Hollow National Fish Hatchery. American Bald Eagles winter at the lake from late fall through early spring, and sandhill cranes are often spotted during migration seasons.

Directions

From Byrdstown, Tennessee, take Highway 111 south for 3 miles. After crossing the bridge, turn right and follow signs to the campground and day-use area, located to the left of Sunset Marina.
