About

Cumberland Point Campground is situated on 30 rolling acres along the main body of Lake Cumberland in southern Kentucky. Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the campground offers 30 shaded campsites beneath dense stands of mature hardwoods, with 14 coveted waterfront sites providing direct lake access and sweeping scenic views. Lake Cumberland is the largest man-made lake east of the Mississippi River, with over 1,200 miles of shoreline offering exceptional recreational opportunities. The lake is renowned for its excellent fishing, with abundant populations of largemouth, smallmouth, white and Kentucky bass, bluegill, crappie, rockfish, and walleye. The campground's boat ramp provides convenient lake access for anglers and boaters. Campground amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, a dump station, playground, picnic shelter, and public parking area. Most sites offer electric hookups. The temperate climate provides a relatively long recreation season. Note that entrance and exit roads have moderate to severe grades. Mill Springs Battlefield Park, a historic Civil War site, is located just 20 minutes away.

Directions

From Nancy, Kentucky, take Highway 235 south for 1 mile to Highway 761. Turn right and travel 9 miles to the campground entrance.
