About

The Kenai Fjords National Park Cabins consist of two remote, rustic cabins accessible only by boat or float plane from Seward. Holgate Cabin sits on a small bluff above a cobble beach on the northeastern shore of Holgate Arm, offering spectacular front-porch views of Holgate Glacier and the sounds of calving ice. Aialik Bay Cabin is located on a five-acre lease at the upper end of Aialik Bay, across from Aialik Glacier in the heart of the park's coastal backcountry. Both cabins are approximately 16' x 20' and feature wooden bunk beds, work counters, tables with chairs, propane heaters with propane provided, fire extinguishers, and smoke detectors. The cabins have no electricity or running water. Fresh water is not always accessible and must be treated when available. Composting toilet structures require disposable toilet kits that must be packed out. There is no cell phone coverage in the area. The cabins provide ideal base camps for kayaking, boating, fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. Black bears, seabirds, sea otters, mountain goats, and marine mammals are commonly seen. Berry picking is excellent in the surrounding spruce forests. Campfires are permitted only on the beach below the high tide line. Reservations are limited to three nights per group per cabin per calendar year.
