About

Kelleys Island State Park Campground sits on one of Lake Erie's most distinctive islands, offering 129 wooded campsites split between 45 non-electric and 84 electric sites. The campground features multiple shower houses with flush toilets, a dump station, playground, and volleyball court. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. Two furnished yurts with efficiency kitchens and two Rent-A-Camp units provide alternative lodging during the warmer months. The island setting provides unique recreational opportunities including a 100-foot sandy swimming beach on the North Bay, boat launch ramp, and six miles of hiking trails. The North Shore Loop and East Quarry Trail lead to the renowned Glacial Grooves geological formation, historic limestone quarry ruins, and panoramic lake views. A youth group camp accommodating 50 people is available by reservation. Access to the island requires a ferry ride from either Marblehead Peninsula or Sandusky. The Kelleys Island Ferry Boat Line operates year-round from Marblehead, weather permitting. Campers should factor ferry schedules and vehicle costs into their trip planning, as no bridge connects the island to the mainland.
