* WHAT...High risk of rip currents. * WHERE...Lucas, Ottawa, Erie and Lorain Counties. * WHEN...Through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Wind and wave action will cause currents on the lakeshore. Swimmers should not enter the water. Currents can carry swimmers away from shore through a sand bar and along structures extending out into the lake.

Catawba Island State Park is a 10-acre day-use public recreation area situated on Lake Erie in Ottawa County, Ohio. Located six miles northeast of Port Clinton, the park provides access to Lake Erie for boating and fishing enthusiasts. Facilities include four boat launch ramps, an ADA-accessible fishing pier, restrooms, and picnic areas. The park is popular for kayaking and canoeing thanks to its cobblestone beach. Swimming is not permitted, and alcohol is prohibited. While the park offers a pleasant lakefront setting for day activities, there are no camping facilities. Visitors seeking overnight accommodations should consider nearby state parks such as East Harbor State Park or South Bass Island State Park, both of which offer campgrounds.
