Juniper Grove Campground is a remote Bureau of Land Management facility located along the Jarbidge Wild and Scenic River in Owyhee County, Idaho, about two miles north of Murphy Hot Springs. This small campground features only 3 developed sites and serves primarily as an access point for experienced whitewater boaters tackling the challenging Jarbidge River during its brief spring runoff season. The Jarbidge River is known for its difficult whitewater, with class 5 and 6 rapids that require portaging in sections. The river typically only has sufficient water for floating during spring runoff, making the boating season quite limited. The campground sits near the confluence of the West Fork and East Fork of the Jarbidge River, a popular put-in location for multi-day trips through the Jarbidge and Bruneau canyons. Access to Juniper Grove is via the Jarbidge Road (also called Three Creek Highway), which has an asphalt surface and originates from U.S. Highway 93 at Rogerson, Idaho. The drive covers approximately 49 miles from Rogerson to Murphy Hot Springs, with the campground located another 2 miles beyond. Two-wheel drive vehicles are generally sufficient to reach the campground during the main season, though winter conditions and weather can impact accessibility in this remote high desert canyon setting.

Directions

Travel to Murphy Hot Springs via the Bruneau-Three Creek Road or the Jarbidge Road. The Jarbidge Road, also called Three Creek Highway, has an asphalt surface and originates from U.S. Highway 93 at Rogerson, Idaho. From Rogerson, it is 49 miles to Murphy Hot Springs. The campground is located about 2 miles north of Murphy Hot Springs near the confluence of the West Fork and East Fork of the Jarbidge River.
