About
Juniper Grove Campground sits in the remote Owyhee Canyonlands of southwestern Idaho, offering river access to one of the region's most challenging and least-visited whitewater runs. The three developed sites are positioned near the confluence of the West Fork and East Fork of the Jarbidge River, about two miles north of Murphy Hot Springs. The Jarbidge River's boating season is notoriously short, typically limited to spring runoff when water levels are sufficient for navigation. The river features demanding Class III-IV whitewater with several portage sections that even experienced boaters choose to walk around. This is not a beginner's river. Beyond river running, the area provides opportunities for fishing, wildlife viewing, and photography in a stark high-desert landscape. The campground serves as a base for exploring the surrounding BLM lands and wilderness areas. Access requires travel via the Bruneau-Three Creek Road or the paved Jarbidge Road (Three Creek Highway) from U.S. 93 at Rogerson.
Directions
Travel to Murphy Hot Springs via the Bruneau-Three Creek Road or the Jarbidge Road. The Jarbidge Road, also called Three Creek Highway, is paved and originates from U.S. 93 at Rogerson, Idaho. The campground is located at the confluence of the West Fork and East Fork of the Jarbidge River, approximately two miles north of Murphy Hot Springs. Two-wheel drive vehicles are sufficient.
