About

Jellison Place is a dispersed camping area situated in the scenic Little Belt Mountains of the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. Located along Hopley Creek approximately 25 miles northwest of Harlowton via County Road 102 and Forest Service Road 382, this primitive camping destination offers 10 sites suitable for tent camping and horse camping. The area provides basic amenities including vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables at each site. However, potable water is not available, so campers must bring their own water supply. This is a pack-in/pack-out site with no trash service. A 14-day stay limit applies. Bears frequent this area, and mandatory food storage in approved containers is required. All food must be kept out of sight and removed from the camping area after eating. The dispersed nature of the site makes it ideal for those seeking a more primitive camping experience with opportunities for horseback riding and picnicking.
