Scattered showers will move through Southwest MT late this afternoon and through the early evening hours. Additionally, expect wind gusts of 45 to 55 mph at times over Southwest MT. These gusty winds will make travel difficult for semi's or campers. If possible, delay travel until later tonight when wind speeds diminish a bit.

At 420 PM, an area of light rain is moving southward through North Central MT. The rain was along and north of a line from Lincoln to Great Falls to Havre. Some wind gusts near 50 mph are also occurring over North Central MT. Some areas of heavier rainfall could produce a half inch to one inch of rainfall. With temperatures falling into the 40s, wind chill values are only in the 30s. Thus those outside late this afternoon or early this evening should be prepared for rain, along with chilly conditions.

West to northwest winds gusting 40 to 55 mph have been observed over foothills of south-central Montana as well as locations near Billings. Those outdoors or driving this evening should be prepared for these sudden strong wind gusts.
