About

Jeff Busby Campground occupies a scenic spot at milepost 193.1, near the midpoint of the historic Natchez Trace Parkway in Choctaw County, Mississippi. Named for Congressman Thomas Jefferson Busby, who championed the parkway's creation, this free primitive campground provides a convenient overnight stop for travelers exploring the route between Natchez and Nashville. The campground offers 18 sites available on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Both pull-through and back-in sites accommodate RVs up to 55 feet total length (including tow vehicle) and 14 feet in height, though no hookups are available. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. Facilities include year-round flush toilets, potable water, and trash collection. Beyond camping, Jeff Busby offers hiking trails leading to Little Mountain's overlook, one of the highest points along the Mississippi section of the parkway. Interpretive exhibits provide insight into the area's natural and cultural history. The campground tends to be busiest during spring and fall, particularly on holiday weekends. A 14-day stay limit applies per calendar year.
