About
South Abutment A is a scenic day-use recreation area located along Grenada Lake's Outlet Channel in north-central Mississippi, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The facility features three group pavilions with electrical hookups that can accommodate groups, with Pavilion 470 able to host up to 75 people. The pavilions overlook the Outlet Channel and provide convenient access to a variety of recreational opportunities.
The area is an excellent destination for fishing enthusiasts, offering bank fishing, a handicap-accessible pier, and a boat ramp for lake access. The boat ramp requires a $5 fee and life jackets are mandatory while boating. Within walking distance of the pavilions, visitors will find restrooms, a playground for children, and access to nature trails. The location provides great opportunities to view wildlife and enjoy the diverse plants and trees of the region.
Nearby attractions include the Overlook, Lost Bluff Hiking Trail, and the Dogwoods Golf Course at Hugh White State Park. This day-use area is ideal for family gatherings, group picnics, and outdoor recreation on one of Mississippi's premier lakes.
