About

Big Creek Campground is a 64-site campground nestled in a mature second-growth forest in Olympic National Forest. Sites are well-spaced for privacy and can accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs up to 36 feet. Big Creek, a small stream, runs adjacent to the campground, and three covered picnic shelters are available for group day use. The campground serves as a trailhead for two hiking options: the gentle one-mile Big Creek Campground Loop Trail #827 that circles the campground with creek views, and the longer Upper Big Creek Loop Trail #827.1, a four-mile route through Big Creek Basin. Via connector trails, hikers can trace the historic climbing route from the campground to the summit of Mt. Ellinor, totaling 6.2 miles. Lake Cushman and the Staircase entrance to Olympic National Park are nearby, with a public boat ramp in the vicinity. The area offers hiking, mountain climbing, fishing, swimming, and exceptional scenery.
