About
Isaac Creek Shelters is a day-use facility managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, located on Claiborne Lake in Alabama's southwest Hill Country. The facility features three group shelters with electric hookups positioned above and below the Claiborne Lock and Dam along the Alabama River. Each shelter is available for reservation and provides a scenic setting for group gatherings, family reunions, and community events. Claiborne Lake encompasses more than 60 miles of the Alabama River and offers excellent opportunities for fishing, boating, birding, and wildlife observation. The Isaac Creek area is particularly appealing to sportsmen and naturalists seeking a peaceful outdoor setting. Day-use visitors have access to the surrounding recreational amenities of the Damsite East Bank area. The shelters operate as day-use only facilities and close at sunset. Groups are limited to the seating and parking capacity of each shelter. Reservations can be made through Recreation.gov, and users are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and adhering to noise regulations to preserve the natural setting for all visitors.

From the intersection of US Highway 84 and Monroe County Road 39 at Claiborne, take Monroe County Road 39 north 8.3 miles to Alabama Highway 41. Follow signs to Isaac Creek Damsite East Bank.
