About

Isaac Creek Shelters is a day-use recreation area managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Claiborne Lake in Alabama's southwest Hill Country. The lake spans more than 60 miles of the Alabama River, offering excellent opportunities for fishing, boating, and wildlife observation. The facility is located near the Claiborne Lock and Dam. The site features three electric group shelters available for reservation through Recreation.gov. Each shelter includes electric hookups (15 amp) and water access, along with picnic tables. The shelters are designed for day-use group events such as family reunions, picnics, and community gatherings. Check-in is at 7 AM and check-out is at 7 PM, with the park closing at sunset. Note that these shelters are for day-use only and do not permit overnight camping. For overnight camping at this location, campers should look at the adjacent Isaac Creek Campground, which offers 60 electric sites with full amenities including flush toilets, showers, and a dump station.
