About

Iron Mine Campground is nestled in the scenic North Fork Drainage off Highway 35, approximately 18 miles from Tabiona, Utah. Situated at 7,400 feet on the southern slope of the Uinta Mountains, the campground occupies an aspen forest interspersed with subalpine fir, lodgepole pine, and spruce. Summer wildflowers are plentiful, and the surrounding canyon offers beautiful scenic views. The campground contains 16 single and double sites plus one group site that accommodates up to 50 people. Each site features a picnic table and campfire ring with grill. Vault toilets and trash collection are provided. Sites have gravel driveways, with at least one pull-through available. Fishing for brook, brown, and rainbow trout on the North Fork Duchesne River is a primary draw. The North Fork Drainage also provides access to the Granddaddy Lake region of the High Uintas via the Grandview Trail, where numerous alpine lakes offer backcountry fishing and spectacular scenery.

Directions

From Duchesne, Utah: Take Highway 87 north to the junction with Highway 35. Turn west on Highway 35 towards Tabiona and continue approximately 28 miles to the campground in the North Fork Drainage.
