About

Intake 2 Campground occupies a scenic spot along a small impoundment on Bishop Creek, approximately 16 miles west of Bishop on State Route 168. The lake is a popular fishing destination, and the campground's relatively small size keeps crowds manageable compared to nearby Lake Sabrina and South Lake. The campground is split into two areas: five walk-in sites along the lake's west shore offer a more secluded experience, while eleven sites near the creek above the lake accommodate smaller vehicles. All sites include bear boxes for food storage, fire rings, and picnic tables. Flush toilets and drinking water from a hand pump are provided. The location serves as an excellent base for fishing, hiking, and photography in the Bishop Creek canyon. Lake Sabrina and South Lake, both renowned for trout fishing and alpine scenery, are a short drive further up the canyon.

Directions

From Bishop, go west on State Route 168 (Line Street) approximately 16 miles. Intake 2 Campground will be on your left.
