About
Located in the Texas Hill Country along the shores of Inks Lake, this year-round state park offers diverse camping options for all preferences. The campground features 114 sites with electric and water hookups (30/50-amp), 42 water-only sites for RVs under 26 feet, 4 tent-only sites with electricity, and 9 primitive hike-in sites located 1.58 miles from parking. Multiple wheelchair-accessible sites are available throughout the campground. The park's standout feature is Inks Lake itself, a flood control reservoir that maintains consistent water levels year-round, providing reliable conditions for swimming, boating, water skiing, kayaking, paddleboarding, scuba diving, and fishing. The clear waters are home to sunfish, catfish, and bass. On land, visitors can explore 9 miles of hiking trails that wind through shaded forests and traverse distinctive pink granite (gneiss) ridges. Modern amenities include restrooms with hot showers, a camp store with equipment rentals (kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, and paddleboats), and weekly/monthly camping rates available December through February. The park front gate is open 6 am to 10 pm daily. All campsites include picnic tables and fire rings or grills, and the park regularly reaches capacity on weekends, holidays, and during summer months.
