About
Tejas Park sits on the south side of Georgetown Lake in the Hill Country of Texas, about 25 miles north of Austin. The campground occupies the south bank of the North San Gabriel River, offering opportunities for fishing, wading, and floating along with large grassy open areas for enjoying the scenic Texas countryside. The park features 12 primitive tent-only campsites, each equipped with a picnic table, grill, and fire ring on a 35x35-foot site with a 16x16-foot tent pad. A group area accommodating up to 25 people is also available. Vault toilets are located near the park entrance, and potable water is available at a central location. Georgetown Lake is known for excellent fishing, particularly smallmouth bass, along with black bass, white bass, hybrid stripers, crappie, and catfish. The San Gabriel River Trail provides 26 miles of rugged terrain through juniper forest, hardwood bottomlands, and prairie grasslands for hiking and biking. Permit hunting for dove, waterfowl, rabbit, squirrel, and whitetail deer is available.
