About
Indian Scotty Group Site sits in an open grassy area surrounded by cedar, Douglas fir, and Ponderosa pine trees along the Wild and Scenic Scott River in California's Klamath National Forest. At 2,400 feet elevation, the single group site can accommodate up to 50 people with a campfire circle and grill provided. The site is particularly suited for RVs up to 30 feet due to its configuration, with a 200-foot gravel driveway. During summer when river flows are low, campers enjoy swimming, tubing, and fishing in the Scott River. In spring, higher flows create Class IV-V whitewater runs through the Scott River canyon. Several Marble Mountain Wilderness trailheads are easily accessed from the campground, including Boulder, Kelsey, and Lovers Camp. Vault toilets are available but potable water is not currently provided. Campers must bring their own drinking water. This is bear country and all food must be stored in approved containers. Firewood should be purchased locally rather than transported to prevent spread of invasive species.
