About

Indian Scotty Group Site is located on the Wild and Scenic Scott River in Klamath National Forest, nestled in a forest of cedar, Douglas fir, and Ponderosa pine at 2,400 feet elevation. Mount Shasta is visible from some areas within the campground. The group site accommodates up to 50 people and is available by reservation only through Recreation.gov. During summer months when river flows are low, campers enjoy fishing, swimming, and tubing in the Scott River. In spring, higher flows create class IV-V whitewater runs through the Scott River canyon for experienced boaters. The campground provides excellent access to the Marble Mountain Wilderness, with several trailheads easily reached including Boulder, Kelsey, and Lovers Camp. The Klamath National Forest encompasses nearly 2 million acres straddling the California-Oregon border, with elevations ranging from 450 to 8,900 feet. The forest supports diverse plant life and nearly 400 animal species across its vast array of mountains, streams, and lakes.
