About

Fort Goff Campground is a quiet, primitive walk-in campground nestled on the banks of the Klamath River in California's Klamath National Forest. The campground offers 3 walk-in sites located 20-75 feet from the parking area, making it suitable only for tent camping. Each site includes a fire ring where campfires are permitted, and a vault toilet serves the campground. There is no potable water and no trash service, so campers must bring adequate water supplies and pack out all refuse. The campground sits along Highway 96 in a scenic stretch of the Klamath River corridor. A historic cemetery lies across the road from the campground. While there is no direct boat launch at Fort Goff, Portuguese Creek River Access is less than one mile east on Highway 96 and provides launch access for rafts, kayaks, and boats. Foot paths from the campground provide access to the river for fishing and swimming. Fort Goff is free to use and operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations. The 14-day camping limit applies. Dogs are permitted on leash. The campground is managed by the Happy Camp/Oak Knoll Ranger District.
