About
Sulphur Springs Campground is a small, primitive campground in the Klamath National Forest that serves as the gateway to the Marble Mountain Wilderness via the Elk Creek Trail. All six sites are walk-in only, located 50-100 yards from the parking area across a footbridge over Elk Creek. The campground's primary draw is a natural warm spring along Elk Creek, maintaining a temperature of approximately 75°F and large enough to accommodate five or six bathers. This is a rustic, no-fee campground with minimal amenities. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water and no garbage service. Campers must bring all their own water for drinking, cooking, and washing, plus extra water to fully extinguish campfires. All trash must be packed out. Dogs are permitted on leash, and the standard 14-day camping limit applies.
Directions
From Happy Camp, head south on Forest Road 16N05 (locally known as Elk Creek Road) approximately 12 miles to the campground. Portions of the road are improved gravel. Brown Forest Service signs direct the way.
