For the Stehekin River...including Stehekin...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and forecast to continue. * WHERE...Stehekin River at Stehekin. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 20.5 feet, water inundates some properties and overtops the temporary corduroy bridge. Company Creek Road inundated at northern end. Battalion Creek culverts are beginning to be overtopped. Water begins damaging Wood Road. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:30 AM PDT Friday the stage was 20.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 19.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 11:30 AM PDT Friday was 20.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.6 feet Tuesday morning. Ida Creek Campground occupies a scenic location at the confluence of Ida Creek and Icicle Creek, approximately 13 miles southwest of Leavenworth via Icicle Road. At 2,500 feet elevation, the campground provides access to excellent fishing opportunities in Icicle Creek and serves as a staging area for hiking and backpacking into the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. The campground features 10 single sites available strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Each site accommodates up to 2 tents or 1 RV plus 1 tent, with a maximum of 2 vehicles per site. Trailers and RVs are limited to 30 feet in length. Vault toilets are provided, and the facility includes wheelchair-accessible amenities. Potable water is not available, so campers must bring their own water supply. Payment can be made on-site using cash, check, or the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature. Holders of Interagency Senior or Access passes receive a 50% discount on single-site fees.
Directions
From Leavenworth, head southwest on US-2 West for 0.8 mile. Turn left onto Icicle Road (FS Road 7600) and follow for approximately 13 miles. The campground is on the left at the confluence of Ida Creek and Icicle Creek.
