About
Blackpine Horse Camp sits at the upper end of Icicle Creek Road along Blackpine Creek, offering equestrian campers and general users access to some of the finest wilderness trails in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. The campground provides 10 single sites on a first-come, first-served basis, with facilities designed to accommodate horse trailers and RVs up to 60 feet in length. The location serves as a gateway to Icicle Creek Trail #1551, Jack Creek Trail, and Blackjack Ridge Trail #1565, which leads to Bootjack Mountain. The campground is situated approximately 18 miles from Leavenworth along Icicle Road (Forest Road 7600), which transitions from pavement to gravel at around the 13-mile mark. The road crosses Icicle Creek at the 15-mile point before reaching the campground. The remote location provides a peaceful base camp for multi-day wilderness adventures, though campers should note that the upper Icicle Road area is not plowed during winter months, making the campground inaccessible during snow season.
