About

Hynds Lodge is a historic enclosed lodge building at Curt Gowdy State Park, situated halfway between Cheyenne and Laramie in southeastern Wyoming. Originally built by businessman Harry P. Hynds and donated to the Boy Scouts of America in 1922, the lodge is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and available for public rental. The lodge features a large kitchen, dining room, living room, covered porch, and stone fireplace with chimney. Additional tables and chairs are available for events. Maximum occupancy is 90 people for day events with overnight sleeping accommodations for up to 20 guests. Linens, plates, and cooking pots are not included. The adjacent amphitheater can be rented separately for concerts, theater productions, and other cultural activities. The facility is located within Curt Gowdy State Park, which offers fishing in multiple reservoirs, hiking and biking trails, rock climbing, and horseback riding. The park has restroom and shower facilities available, though there is no dump station on site.
