About
Hurricane Landing Campground occupies a scenic position near the eastern end of Sardis Lake's southern shoreline in the rolling hills of north Mississippi. Managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, this intimate 15-site campground is distinguished by beautiful Osage Orange (Bodock) trees that create a unique character. Each campsite features 50 amp electrical and water hookups, making it primarily suited for RVs, with a modern flush restroom and shower building serving the campground.
Sardis Lake spans over 98,000 acres across Panola, Lafayette, and Marshall counties and is consistently ranked as one of the top crappie fishing destinations in the country. The campground's boat launch accommodates both high and low water levels, providing excellent access for anglers targeting crappie, catfish, and bass. Beyond fishing, the surrounding area offers abundant hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, squirrel, waterfowl, and rabbit.
The campground includes a picnic shelter and playground, creating a family-friendly atmosphere. Located approximately 20 minutes from Oxford, Mississippi and the University of Mississippi campus, as well as the historic town of Holly Springs and I-22, Hurricane Landing offers a balance of natural seclusion and convenient access to regional attractions.
