Hurricane Landing Campground sits near the eastern end of Sardis Lake's southern shoreline in Lafayette County, Mississippi. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District, this compact 15-site campground provides full hookup camping with 50-amp electric and water at each site. The flush restroom and shower building offers a step up from typical Corps campgrounds. A popular boat launch provides access at both high and low lake levels. Sardis Lake spans over 98,000 acres across Panola, Lafayette, and Marshall counties in the rolling hills of north Mississippi. The lake is consistently ranked as one of the top crappie fishing destinations in the country and also produces quality catfish and bass. Surrounding public lands offer hunting for deer, turkey, squirrel, waterfowl, and rabbit. The campground is surrounded by distinctive Osage Orange (Bodock) trees. Oxford, Mississippi and the University of Mississippi campus are about 20 minutes south, while the historic town of Holly Springs and I-22 are a similar distance north.

Directions

From I-22 take Hwy 7 south at Holly Springs, MS. Follow Hwy 7 south approximately 18 miles and turn right onto Lafayette County Road 108 at Abbeville, MS. Follow CR 108 approximately 4.5 miles to Hurricane Landing Recreation Area. From Hwy 278 in Oxford, MS take Hwy 7 north approximately 10.5 miles, turn left onto Lafayette County Road 108 at Abbeville, and follow CR 108 approximately 4.5 miles.
